A good Curly start into the new year

The link ‘News’ is now active to inform you of our Curly Horses, our Ranch and more

Last summer we introduced Ranch Wolf on the web. Since then we have recei- ved plenty of positive feedback; whether by personal contact, phone or email; reinforcing that we are on the right path. We would like to share with our Curly Fans and interested Curly Fans that we will now be regularly sending out a news- letter. This newsletter will contain updates of Curly events so you can all follow
us in our journey. So you can stay informed we have added a new link on our website that will allow you to look at pictures and up-to-date texts. This new in- formation can be found under the category News. At this point we would like to thank you for stepping into contact with us. We look forward to receiving more feedback from you.

All the positive experiences from this past year on the Erlenhof will be brought together and recognized to help create more constructive ideas. Everyday we step closer to our goal that we have locked into our eyes and our hearts. Our motto is ‘Enjoy the Curlys’ and this is what keeps us motivated.

We started our adventure with seven Curly Horses. Our herd has since more
than doubled as we now attend to nineteen horses. Daily new groups and friend- ships between compatible horses are built. The social atmosphere among the horses has improved immensely since there are various opportunities to find
a complementary partner or friend. In order to create a well balanced and heal- thy herd it is important to have a mix of young and old on each pasture. Through observation of our horses we have been able to find the perfect mix for each pasture.

Collective and balanced

At Ranch Wolf we pride ourselves in having ample amounts of first class hay. The love spreads through the stomachs of our Curly horses as they enjoy their meal; as you can see in the photo.

Learning with horses and making friends

I can only speak of positive experiences that I encountered with this practicum and through contact to the horses. One of my findings during this time was how the foals and the younger horses are quick learners and they seem to have a lot of fun while being trained. Having said this it is important to note that these hor- ses are only trained for 20-30 minutes per day.

It was very interesting to observe the faces of the trainers while working with the more advanced horses. It is interesting to note how the relationship between the horse and the trainer changed positively throughout the training. Most of all I ha- ve learned a lot about myself and my body language.

It was great to work with so many different Curly horses on Ranch Wolf and to see how each horse reacted differently towards me. It was a lot of fun to spend
a week with you and your horses. Thank you for allowing me this experience.

Many thanks to Petra, Klaus and Family Wolf!

Just as always found; in regards to human contact to animals: you can achieve personal enrichment in va- ried ways. Since we started our Curly adventure it has become clear that the relationship between a horse and a person is a very special bond, one in which both sides can gain strength and insight.
